Just Is Silk Mask
We were completely wowed by Amanda Gorman, the 22-year-old poet, activist, and author who's Inauguration Day poem "The Hill We Climb" was a poignant call to action. She strode to the podium in a bright yellow coat, glowing red headband, and delivered her vision and wisdom in verse. We've designed this mask in the similarly bold shades of yellow, blue, gold, red, in an effort to capture Gorman's electric vibe as she recited:
When day comes, we ask ourselves where can we find light in this never-ending shade?
The loss we carry, a sea we must wade.
We've braved the belly of the beast.
We've learned that quiet isn't always peace,
and the norms and notions of what "just" is isn't always justice.
And yet, the dawn is ours before we knew it.
Somehow we do it.
Somehow we've weathered and witnessed a nation that isn't broken,
but simply unfinished

ABOUT OUR MASKS
Each silk mask is one of a kind. Our fabric is hand dyed by artist Laura Kozaitis who fuses traditional and modern dying techniques to achieve her signature designs.
Your mask was sewn in Queens, NY by a small group of women; many of whom are mothers that have been hard hit by the recent pandemic. Collaborating with Silk Road Spaceship provided them the opportunity for independent enterprise through fair wages, as well as the safety and flexibility to work from home.
Poets have lauded silk luminous wearability for thousands of years . Ideal for keeping your aerosols to yourself, silk is strong, wrinkle resistant, naturally antimicrobial, and dries quickly.
Wash your mask by hand or machine on a gentle cycle in warm water with a mild detergent. Skip the dryer. Lay flat to dry. You’ll be ready to fly again in no time.
